From the moment I arrived I was treated like royalty. The food, the rooms and the service are all first class and I will always make a point of staying here again if I am on the North east coast again - which I hope to be soon. If you want 5 star luxury but also looking for value for... More

This is the nicest B&B I have ever had the pleasure of staying in and actually lot better than many hotels with double the price tag! Catriona and John were very friendly and keen to provide plenty of information and recommendations for the area. Lovely homely touches like the tea and shortbread on arrival and home grown stewed rhubarb with... More

Accommodation and food were excellent,Other nice touches such as tea and homemade cake on arrival and homemade shortbread with tea/coffee facilities in bedroom- best B&B we have ever stayed in. Fantastic location to break journey on A9. Worth taking a walk along nearby beach

This was a second visit to Culgower House and, as on the previous occasion, Catriona and John looked after us very, very well. As before, Catriona offered a cuppa on arrival, served with delicious home-baking. Excellent, tastefully decorated, warm bedrooms are a welcome sight for the A9-weary traveller - the beds are wonderfully comfortable and the linen immaculately laundered. The... More

The location and views are stunning across the Moray Firth; the House sits in well kept mature gardens a few miles South of Helmsdale. Made to feel relaxed & welcome the moment you arrive in this spacious first class accommodation, very peaceful and comfortable nights sleep with very large on suite. Breakfast is of the best you are likely to... More

What can I say, this BB is far superior to some hotels that my husband and I have stayed in. We arrived to a very warm welcome by Catrionia. We had arrived quite late, and were offered coffee and shown the lounge if we wished to avail ourselves of this. We were then shown to our room, which was the... More

how lovely an experience staying at this B&B was. Everything was superb- from the comfortable bed to the graciousness of the Whitfields. It was obvious to us that the owners planned everything with loving care so that their guests could have an unforgettable experience. There's so many details to comment on- the spacious breakfast room, the delicious rhubard compote, the... More

My mother booked this B&B from Australia, so we knew little about it. We arrived late in the evening and our hosts could not have been more welcoming, bringing us a fresh pot of tea and coffee along with home made goodies. We had brought a picnic dinner with us and our hosts kindly advised us of the walking route... More

Culgower House is a grand building in an equally grand setting...its grounds, which included a vast kitchen garden, fascinated us. We loved the floral arrangements in the public rooms and in our bedroom...the flowers all coming from their garden. Catriona's welcome, which included tea and delicious home made cake(I now have the recipe), set the standard for our overnight stay.... More

Arrived and was offered tea and homemade cake - weather so nice had it in the garden. Room was superb - huge bed, massive bathroom, spotlessly clean. Breakfast with homemade bread and the most yellow eggs I have ever seen! Loved the idea of different specials every day. The Whitfields have got it just right and it would be worth the trip... More
