We didn`t stay at this hotel, but we rented their bikes and we had a terrible experience.

They gave us two dangerous bikes with faulty brakes and no helmets. On top of that they demanded that they held our IDs until the return of the bikes.

The service was below standard as the person dealing with the bikes had a disgusting attitude from the start. We had our bikes for 30 mins until we encountered problems with the brakes becoming loose. we decided to return our bikes and ask for a refund. They did give back my ID but charged us for 3 hours for 30 minutes use. Thank goodness we didn't have the bikes for the week.

I do not recommend going to hotel Katalin hotel to hire bikes. Their adverts on yellow posters seemed to be everywhere, but their bikes were dangerous. more

I am the guy who gave the bikes to the guests. Althought the guests tried out our bikes, they decided to choose ones from the lower price category which they found to be correct. After the trouble with the brakes during they ride we offered them to replace the bikes. This offer has been declined with the reason of not...

Stayed here for four days in August. The hotel is very new (opened in 2007) located ten minutes walk from Gyenesdiás lake Balaton waterfront/activity centre, five mins walk from Gyenesdiás train station (hourly trains to Keszthely) & linked by easy cycle paths to Keszthely & Hévíz (Themal lake). Facilities include large indoor & outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi, saunas (both Finnish and infrared), fitness room, BBQ area, Volleyball, Mini-Golf & Table Tennis.
The restaurant is buffet-style (& relatively basic) & the bar closes at 10pm.
My wife & I stayed in one of the most expensive rooms with half-board, which had airconditioning a TV, mini-bar & balcony. Main feedback was that communicating in English was very difficult, German & Hungarian are the main languages. There was only one iron in the hotel & no ironing board (although the staff did iron my shirt for the wedding as a favour). The food was basic. The decor in the rooms (orange... more
