In September 2011, we stayed at the Alqueria de Morayma. The only problem was that we unfortunately only stayed for one night, since the next day we had to go to Malaga to catch our flight. The welcoming of the owner (an English woman) was very warm and friendly! The hotel complex consists of different very nice white cottages with... More

This hotel really is in a beautiful location on the side of the Alpujarras near Cadiar. We stumbled across it when we were cycling around that way and ate there. We returned later and stayed there and enjoyed our experience, the room was light, bright and airy with mosquito screens over the window (underrated - these are marvellous, allowing you... More

I was recommended to stay in this place by local winemakers from Bodega Barranco Oscuro and we weren't disappointed. Great value for money. beautiful mountainous surroundings, open swimming pool. Tasty food- best fish ever! Good breakfast for only 3 euros.

The best I have experienced in the area. Food served in restaurant is grown buy owners (organic), the rooms/appartments are renovated with taste. Excellent value and is not more expensive than other hotels around. Wifi available. Is out of Cadiar, you need to spot the sign of the Hotel before town if you are arriving from Grenada - or well... Perhaps this place will not suit everyone but if you want to experience rural Spain and not just an Engish version of Spain then this is the place for you. We loved the room, the views, the food, the wood fire and the fact that the staff didn't speak much English! its also a very convenient place to stay to... More

We stayed in the quiet season and, although there were a few other cottages booked, we were the only people in the bar and restaurant for dinner - we had a lovely dinner sitting in front of the wood fire in the bar. It was very relaxing and quiet, with amazing views across the mountains and white villages. Most accommodation... More

Amazing food, amazing wine, stunning views, great rooms, nice pool. The only down side was the heat at night (in July), we had no fan in the room, so the heat was uncomfortable. But even saying this, I was very very happy to have stayed here.

We knew the Alpujarras from previous trips but had never stayed here. Now we will probably not stay anywhere else. The Alqueria is an old traditional village, abandoned and then transformed by an entrepreneur from the nearby Cadiar. The houses have been very well refurbished with excellent touches such as underfloor heating everywhere (please check if this applies to all... More

We went here for our honeymoon, choosing it because it looked tucked away and peaceful. It was exactly that. And very very beautiful. We had a bit of a nightmare finding the place as we didn't have a map and were driving from Malaga, but got there in the end. It should have taken about 2.5 hours. When we arrived... More

Alqueria de Morayma is a complete gem. Its location is stunning - we had dinner overlooking the incredible mountains and villages of the Sierra Nevada. Our apartment was cosy and traditionally furnished with al the amenities you need. The linen was changed every day and everything was very clean. The food was typically Andalucian and delicious. It was also exceptionally... More
