The building is impressive, and the interior of the rooms feels newly done. But the beds are some of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in--crinkly plastic (ick!) beneath the sheets kept me awake all night. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We rented a car and drove to La Rioja from San Sebastian, and though the roads were a little difficult to manage (the mountains, weird for us Iowans!), it was definitely worth it. The Hospederia de San Millan is one of the most unique hotels I've stayed at in Spain. The hotels rooms are spacious and well decorated. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the staff is friendly and efficient. I had to check out very early and they were extremely accommodating. more
