We stayed here at the end May on a friends recoomemdation. We were not disappointed and had one of our best holidays. The hotel has been newly renovated and the room we stayed in was incredible with mountain views & a hot tub to relax in. The food was by far the best I have had at a hotel - breakfast was generous with a good variety. The cake buffet every afternoon was also a lovely touch and great if you've been out exploring. The evening meals were just amazing and we had an incredible range of local food & wine. It's amazing value for the quality! I was travelling with my 18 mth old daughter and was so impressed with how accommodating everyone was. There were separate 3 course menus for little ones and the high chair, cutlery etc is all provided! It's beautifully done so that children are welcomed as part of the overall experience. The free travel card was also a great perk and we were able to have a free day out (inc a cable car ride). The staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful - translating the menu into English daily just for us and also dropping us back to the station which was great as I was travelling with my mum and baby daughter. A totally first class experience!!

This is the most fantastic hotel we have stayed in. The staff and owners are so friendly and helpful. The food quality is also outstanding and a nice variety. They have free bicycles for use and e-bikes for rent that is really nice to do in this area. The roof top pool has a spectacular view

The Hotel is beautiful. It is clean and attractive. The rooms was great. The bed was really comfortable and on the pillow was a little chocolate. Really nice. When we looked out from the window we had a great view to the city. The service in general is really good, the personal is very friendly and helpful. Something about the breakfast, there are many things would you can select. (bread, milk, coffee, butter, jam, ham, eggs, beans, and much more). The location is near by the city, you can take the city bus, what is the yellow on, every 30 minutes. The way to the city in Algund is only 10 minutes and to the big city Meran is it 20 minutes. But you can see a lot of thinks in during the drive, because the bus goes by the village. Near the hotel are many ways where you can walk a little bit. At the tourist information in Algund you can announce to daily tours to the mountains. I enjoy it.

I've stayed at Dorner many times now at different times of the year and can't recommend it highly enough: it is a consistently great experience. Andrea and Steffi run the show with warmth, friendship and real efficiency. The food is absolutely first class, as is the wine. Neither is remotely expensive by British standards. The pools, spa, terrace and lounge areas are all well maintained and really comfortable. The rooms in the main house are smaller and a more dated than the residence - but this is reflected in the price. They are all extremely clean and well maintained. If you enjoy good food and wine, this half board deal is frankly a bargain. Already looking forward to my next visit.

We were recommended this hotel by friends and we weren't disappointed. The friendly atmosphere, perfect service and the excellent spa facilities made this trip perfect. The food was superb and innovative, we looked forward to breakfast every morning, so much choice! Nothing was too much trouble for the team, and the efforts they went to to make New Year's Eve special, are commendable! We loved the fireworks and the wish lanterns! It was a short bus ride into Merano from bus stop outside the hotel, and with the travel card, all public transport was free. The Christmas market was worth visiting, and the atmosphere in the town was very festive. We will definitely be returning when the weather is warmer, to try out some of the walking trails.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dorner. The property is well laid out and beautifully decorated and maintained. The food was very good with plenty of variety. The swimming pool was set in a perfectly landscaped setting with excellent outdoor furniture. We had a lot of helpful advice on places to visit and were given a 30 day season ticket on all public transport in the area. Public transport if frequent and very clean, a pleasant change from London. Our only problem was the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms. The weather this year has been very hot all over Europe so maybe it is not needed in normal conditions. Thoroughly recommend to families with children and couples alike.

We chose this Hotel based on the previous very good reviews and even then it exceeded our expectations. We were only staying for three nights to explore the area around Merano and were provided with a free travel pass for the local buses and trains. Although we were able to sample the magnificent breakfast each morning - which included champagne on Sunday morning! we wished we had more time to fully appreciate the indoor and outdoor pools, and superb spa area with sauna complex. We would have no hesitation in recommending this extremely well run and friendly family run hotel. It is very difficult to be critical on any aspect of this Hotel but our basic double room was compact and faced a busy road, although our sleep was not disturbed due to the excellant sound proofing
