Our lovely, spacious room overlooked an old pond surrounded by palm trees with the heated pool just peeking through a small copse beyond. We stayed for 5 nights and looked forward eagerly to returning to our "home in the park" every day. Rudy and his staff couldn't have been more helpful by doing us countless little favours and offering advice... more

We stayed there for only one night and service was outstanding. Upon arrival nice reception by a young lady who brought us to our rooms together with second person taking care of our baggage. Bar and restaurant where quite busy and with very friendly service (multilingual) and very good food (but we had to wait quite long). Mr Baur, the... more

We stayed at the Chateau for four days with friends and family. We live in New York City but I have family in Paris and Bordeaux. My father in law researched many towns and Chateaus in the region and Rudy made the biggest impression at the Montcaud. This is really a place to come and relax and slow down. If you... more

I have to disagree with most of other reviewers. Very disappointing experience. Room was too small, and turned out it was the second bedroom of a suite; this means it was divided from the other room by a very thin communicating door. Like being in the same room with your neighbours, which is unpleasant. I paid full fare anyway (270... more

Where do I start, for the money its just not worth it. The hotel has seen better days and needs an urgent injection of cash to bring it up to standard, it must be the worst Relais & Châteaux that I have been do - it brings shame on the name! On arrival the signage is poor and we went... more

After reading the other reviews i wondered how much wine these people had drunk while lazing by the pool. Yes the grounds are lovely and the pool inviting. But the service is appaling. The rooms are not all spacious and absolutely not luxurious. I joined some friends on a cycling tour for diner. They showed me the rooms they had.... more

My husband and I flew into Provence for a long weekend to escape cold/ cloudy London. We were immediately welcomed by Mr. Baur who is lovely, as is his hotel. The grounds are gorgeous and we LOVED lazing around the chateau .. . having breakfast on the front terrace in the morning, reading in the sun by the pool. Lunch... more

This chateau has been lovingly restored. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is inviting after a long day of touring neighboring towns, villages, and wineries. The food and wine are fabulous. Rudy is an impeccable host. more

A marvelous country house set on 11 wooded acres about 35 km from Avignon. The hotelier, Rudy Baur and his wife are two of the most accommodating and warm hosts one could imagine. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is part of the Relais & Chateaux association which means that it is luxurious and most welcoming to... more
