We stayed at this hotel as a base for our exploration of the area. The room was uniquely decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, with a great shower. The room opened on to the beautiful private gardens. Each morning, we woke to the smell of freshly baked pastries and bread. The service in all respects was... More

It was my third stay at Montcaud. Why would I come back to a place? because it is a jewel. The owner greats the guests personally when checking in and on departure. The restaurant is unusual in it's food quality and service

What do we look for in an ideal hotel for a two weeks stay ? A comfortable bed, a spacious comfortable room, well equiped bath room, attractive well kept premises ,nice views ,pool with comfortable furniture, attractive grounds and views ,Chateau de Moncaud has all these for sure to perfection. But what elevates this hotel above the competition is the dedication... More

We stayed at the Chateau for 5 nights with 2 small kids. The service was outstanding. The food prepared by Chef Bernhard Guillot, one of the renowned Maitres Cuisiniers of France, was at the same time refined and exquisite. We tried almost everything from meat to Fish. Every dish was a new world of experience. The place itself is exhuberant... More

I was very interested in visiting Chateau Moncaud because of its profile on the Relais & Chateaux. It looks quite lovely on the outside, however; I found it dull and drab on the inside. In fact, it was refurbished recently, therefore, I haven't seen the new areas that were remodeled. Nevertheless, if you like an older atmosphere of dated furniture... More

Thank you for your comments Nikki. I wonder what motivated you to post this "avis" in April 2012, referring to your stay in May 2011? I have some good news for you : The Jacuzzi is in good shape and the fitness room has been entirely refurbished and re-equipped 2 weeks ago, before our opening of this Season "20 Years... More

More

We love this place! First stayed here for one night in Sept '10 but never got around to reviewing it - we revisited this July for two nights so, at last, here's my review. The rooms are in the original Chateau and have lovely high ceilings which assist in keeping them nice and cool in the hot summer months. All... More

This hotel is what you expect and hope for from a Relais and Chateau listed hotel. The rooms are in a beautiful chateau and are charmingly furnished with a Provencal note. Breakfast is superb and is served until 11 a.m. with a wide range of multi language newspapers available. Lunch in the shade of the towering chestnut trees is a... More

We were expecting Relais Chateau standards but unfortunately they were not forthcoming. The intenet was too slow to download a movie and was not available in the room. The fitness centre doubled as a tiny tot creche. The gym machines were out of date and in poor maintenance. The grounds photograph well but omit the sound of the nearby road... More
