We have stayed at Ermenonville several times over the last few years and always had an excellent experience. It is a classic chateau in a beautiful setting, the public rooms are lovely and the bedrooms look over a landscaped lake with attendant wildlife. The restaurant is a real treat, and we have always found the service impeccable. And no, it... more

Great setting and exterior. But the inside hasn't seen any sort of redecoration for at least 20 years and it shows. Every room is tired and needs a revamp. Bedrooms are very shabby. Bathrooms are no better than 2 star and need ripping out. more

The chateau is lovely. Parking is easy. The rooms are in French style and none the worse for that. Admittedly the shower room was small and had the usual drawback that water leaked all over the floor, but that seems standard in many hotels now. The setting is glorious with its own etang and herons in the evening. It is... more

I have just come back from a stay at this chateua. At sight it is the most perfect fairytale place ever.. surrounded by a moat and stunning grounds and gates. Once inside the staircase is beautiful and stunning.. then you get to the rooms and i was abit shocked to say the least. We booked a superior room due to... more

WOW. Not many places like this exist. Fantastic hotel, staff, setting, town. I can't imagine how anyone could do anything else but fall in love with this hotel. Once in a lifetime experience and I've been to many places in many countries... Nice restaruant, helpful staff, large rooms. What more could you ask for. more

This was the 3rd time I've stayed at the Chateau and it's a unique experience. It is NOT for those who prefer staying at Hilton, Hyatt, Sofitel-type hotels. This is a real chateau and, from what i've seen, the vast majority of the clients are French. Yes, there is a shabby-chic quality to the chateau, but that adds to its... more

I had great expectations for the resort but was disappointed mainly because of the construction ruining the great landscapes of the hotel. The food in the restaurant was pretty good and the waiters friendly, although it is pretty pricey. more

This was supposed to be the highlight of our week long holiday in France. However, it was a huge disappointment! First impressions of the hotel were good, it has a real fairytale setting. However the inside was very shabby. The toilet door did not shut, there was nowhere to hang the shower head, paint work flaking, etc There was a... more

Beautiful exterior, peaceful setting, but ... The interior of Chateau Ermenonville is very run down. Many of the carpets in the lobby and breakfast area were very old and dirty. Also, on the second floor, the carpets still had lumps in them (they weren't pulled tight!) making it very difficult roll a suitcase down the hallway. Quite a bad first... more

We stayed here one night prior to our flight home and really enjoyed the experience. The chateau is lovely and dining in the restaurant was very enjoyable and one of the better meals we had during our stay in France. The hotel desk staff as well as restaurant staff were all extremely pleasant and among the best we encountered during... more
