It is a shame that the bright yellow livery is right through the hotel (including the rooms and bathrooms), because it gives a misleading impression! In fact, it's a very good little hotel - staff very friendly and helpful, very clean, yet basic rooms, but everything worked as it should. The beds were clean and comfortable and the room temperature was just right.
What makes this hotel stand out, though, is the food. The evening meals are excellent value for money - both service and quality standards are very high, which was reflected by the full restaurant of both residents and non-residents dining. The breakfast was also very high quality and plenty of it too.
It's an excellent base if you're touring the area or if you're breaking a long journey up.
The only problem, I would say, with this hotel is that it's a little out of the way and therefore was not that easy to find - they could do with better driving directions!
