The Ibis in Roanne is situated out of town on an industrial park.
This may sound a downer, but as the shops were already closed when we checked in, it was actually a peaceful haven.
It has an outdoor pool with tables next to it for dining. The inside of the resturant resembles a little chef and the menu choice is a bit bland.
The rooms are generally clean and comfortable, but our room had an annoying buzzing sound every 30mins. Probably something to do with the aircon.
Staff are generally helpful, although we did experience a somewhat reluctance of one staff member to understand English, even though she clearly spoke it. She was quite unhelpful and when asked for an Irish coffee, firstly abruptly said "No!". Then decided to serve one up anyway in an espresso cup???
Overall - a comfortable and peaceful place to stop over en-route, with the added bonus of a refreshing pool to cool down.
Very reasonably priced hotel.
