The paradors are like living in a museum for a night... which is great for the most part. I cant say enough about the grounds. Lovely citrus groves inside an old hospital attached to the Cathedral complex(Across the street). The stay was easy and charming, with the rooms being OK for the price. This particular parador is a less expensive... More

I love Paradores and this one is really beautiful. We travelles with our 4 children, we booked two room looking to the pool¨s garden. It was very hot but in the Parador it was pleasant and nice. The Parador is just across the Monastery so you can enjoy it . The plaza Mayor is just around the corner so is... More

We stay in paradors regularly, and this did not let us down. The room was very good, with a balcony with spectacular views over the monastery and the hills beyond. The setting for the parador is excellent, and the food was good, but not spectacular. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I usually give five-star reviews to paradors as a matter of course - and they merit them. I think this is the first parador where I found myself wondering if I should drop a star. It wasn't the service, which was the usual high standard, where, by way of example, a mere indication I needed something produced it immediately. I... More

The Paradores network is overall the best value for money luxury accommodation in Spain. Parador de Guadalupe is a refurbished old monastery-school linked to the building of the old hospital. There is also an extension at the back of the building which is so beautifully done that one would not realize is walking into a newer building -the facade is... More

When in Europe we love to stay at historic places as much as we can, but we are finding out that in Spain the prices for these types of buildings is outrageous. Perhaps when these facilities were originally opened as Paradores the bathroom fixtures were in good working order. Today they are not. From poor toilet flushing to shower fixtures... More

I had visited this parador several years ago and had very fond memories of it. Its still a wonderful place but, in my opinion, not worth a detour. I hate to grouse about things like this, but they charged us 11 euros a night to park in their lot, something I never experienced at any other parador. The restaurant was... More

The courtyard where you could dine and have drinks was superb (although not quite as good as the Trujillo Parador). The rooms were very good although we did have some issues with a noisy A/C unit. What was really special about this place were the gardens. Unfortunately, the ornate fountains were not running during our visit. I desperately wanted to... More

The Parador de Guadalupe is lovely - an ancient and magnificant building successfully transformed into one of Spain's national hotels. Built around a lovely orange filled courtyard with tumbling water it's location certainly compliments the amazing Royal Monastery of Santa Maria opposite. Drinks in the courtyard in the evening bring out the romantic! The rooms, furnished with antiques are large... More

This was the last Parador I stayed in at the end of a trip through Extrademura and by far the most beautiful. Part 15th & part 16th Century it is all gloriously atmospheric. The rooms are not large but well equipped, with some antique furniture. The central patio is a cool, tree-lined place for drinks and lunch and the pool,... More
