I was not going to stay at this hotel due to the poor reviews and then thought it is only one night, it doesn't matter what it is like. However, it was absolutely fine - clean, nice shower, quiet (and it was a Friday night), good breakfast for £3.99 next door at the Toby Carvery.

I recently booked this Travelodge due to it's location only. Very poor Hotel. Walls are non existent and you can hear everything in next room. Doors crashing all night. Rooms dusty and not clean. Avoid.........

The price was right, the location appeared right on the map, so we booked it. It was difficult to find, but that could be as much our fault as we were having car problems and panicking in the dark and rain as the fact it was tucked up behind a pub and not really very well signposted from the road.... Stayed one night in september 2011 - room was not to bad but very very noisy. Food was really bad and ended up walking out once i saw the food had been there most of the night. Ended up getting a takeaway from the local indian in Wickford.

The Travelodge is budget accommodation but the room was scruffy and tired.
