La Casa Vieja is situated in the tiny hamlet of Rugat in Valencia surrounded by beautiful countryside and mountains. The house is over 400 years old and features old beamed ceilings, an interior well and a huge stone fireplace. The house has been wonderfully restored by Maris the owner and furnished using antiques blended with some more modern pieces. There are courtyards, one filled with a cool swimming pool surrounded by plants in stone urns, with cool and comfy places to sit, another used as a dining courtyard where you can partake of Maris' wonderful food under the stars with the sounds of the night blending witha background of cool jazz. The food is to die for, wonderfully inventive using local fresh ingredients to the traditional such as warm puds with Maris' homemade ice cream.
