Stayed one night at this castle hotel and we loved everything about it. The hotel is not big and i think they have lesser than 20 rooms. It is our first time staying in a castle. The room was great but the design of the bathroom was a little weird because it doesn't have a door. Anyway, everything works perfectly... More

While underway in Spain, we try to stay in paradors when possible. As a change of pace from Albacete, we decided on Alarcon. It is one of the most attractive paradors we've stayed in and a really unique location. Our room was very charming - with a great modern bathroom! So many times you get historic charm with historic bathrooms... More

We were visiting Spain and staying in Moraira with our cousin and his wife. Since we had to drive back to Madrid at the end of the visit, they said that they had a surprise for us and that it would involve driving halfway back to Madrid on the day before our departure flight from Madrid Airport and staying somewhere... A wonderful hotel to stay in with attention to detail. There was a "scroll" on arrival in our room describing some of the history of the person our room was named after ... and in English. On the down side, there is very little to do here. I could have spent a couple of hours exploring the town walls and... More

Our 5th stay in a Parador, with the usual quality of service and friendly staff that we have now come to expect. However, the spectacular setting of this hotel, coupled with our spacious and well furnished room in the castle tower (complete with a window seat overlooking the town), have made this a very memorable stay...and for us, stepped this... As always the best thing about the Paradors in Spain is the personnel - always friendly, helpful, attentive, etc. Originally we were given a room in the wall, maybe a bit on the small size but very comfortable. Unfortunately the shower didn't work well. When we mentioned it at the reception, we were immediately given a room in the tower.... More

Amazing setting, very off the beaten track, but slightly disappointing, we paid a lot of money for the experience of staying in an 8th century castle, the room was small, breakfast mediocre at best, definitely not 4*, I would barely give it 3*. If historical buildings are your thing, then give it a go, but if you are looking for... More

My wife and I stayed one night in this Parador. The idea of sleeping in a castle was very appealing to us and the rate was cheaper than it usually is so we decided to go for it. First of all, the hotel is smaller than we anticipated with only 14 rooms. We had a regular room which was located... More

We stayed at the Parador in Alarcon with my parents for 3 nights 7th till 10th August. As Parador fanatics we knew what standard to expect but this Parador exceeded all expectations. Both our rooms were in the Gallery and both of excellent size, furnishings and standard, both having an integral castle wall as part of their features. The bathrooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
An exceptional witness to the Reconquest, this 8th. castle, perfectly preserved, retains the aura of Arabic influence, with inimitable bedrooms which recreate the most romantic legends.
