My wife and I stayed at Split Apple lodge for 2 nights in early April. We had driven in from Blenheim and arrived fairly late in the day as dusk approached. We were met at the front door by our hosts - who were super-friendly and helped us carry our bags into our room, and told us we were probably... More

I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely, restful place. We spent 4 nights here, and initially had the place to ourselves, so they generously moved us over to the sea view side, although either would have been pleasant. I would describe the place as luxurious but that makes it sound OTT, whereas in fact the design was quite spare... More

Bert and Paulette were just outstanding hosts in our stay in Split Apple. We were at home away from home, they did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as could be. The views from there is just stunning, the best in the whole of Split Apple. A must when thinking of that area.

This bed and breakfast is gorgeous! Not someone's house that accommodates extra people, this place was obviously built as a bed and breakfast, and therefore is much more spacious and comfortable than most. The whole place is spotlessly clean and tastefully appointed. The breakfasts are wonderful (if you're lucky Bert will have been out fishing and will provide you with... More

Hosts Bert and Paulette gave us a wonderfully warm welcome and all the advice and help we needed to make our stay near Abel Tasman a memorable experience. Rooms at the front have a sea view and are worth the extra, with a balcony to sit out on and enjoy the view. The lodge is halfway between Marahau and Kaiteriteri... More

We spent three nights at Split Apple Lodge and were very impressed with the building, location and breakfasts. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with great views. One problem - there was no wardrobe or indeed any kind of storage space for clothes apart from a wooden rail measuring approx 30cms sticking out from the wall with four small... More

Thanks for the feedback. Since your stay we have purchased 2 tables with drawers for 2 rooms and are looking at a duchess for a third. We have tried not to compromise the spacious feel of the rooms by cluttering them, but we realize quests sometimes like to unpack and have a place to put their clothes. In regard to... More

My wife and I spent 6 nights relaxing at Split Apple Lodge... Bert and Paulette are great hosts who give you your space but are there when you need them. The interaction with other guests was entertaining and informative as we were all 'travelling'. If you do make it here you must go to the 'Fat Tui' in Marahou... Probably... More

What a beautiful place...we loved it and wished we were staying longer than 2 nights. We were amazed by the totally peaceful location and the fantastic views it afforded.......Bert and Paulette were great hosts, so welcoming and helpful, they deserve every success with their lovely B and B. Everything we needed was available, we would definitely stay again and again... More

I recently spent three wonderful nights at Spilt Apple Lodge and found the place so welcoming and restful. Nothing was too much for the hosts and the superb lodge and little extras made it a lovely place to stay. It's a wonder that not a lot of Kiwi's have found this beutiful lodge
