For a Friday night the place was very quiet, with only 3 tables occupied. Despite this, the service was quite slow. As for the food, the lamb was very nice, but the vegetables served with it were undercooked and very hard. The chocolate panacotta with shortbread dessert was heavenly though. All in all, a disappointing dinner given the price.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful country setting. The rooms were spotless albeit slightly small. The restuarant was in a slightly eccentric setting. We were just back for our third stay at the Trooper Inn and were not let down. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend eating dinner at the pub. The food was outstanding and is worth a trip on its own merit. Breakfast was also top notch. Looking forward to our next visit.
