I booked a studio apartment at the last minute so got a good rate (approx 85 quid). Bear in mind nothing is cheap in monaco. The plusses are that the location is good, around 300m from the casino square and close to bus services which run all around monaco. OK, technically it is in France but this is actually meaningless as Monaco is so small. It is up a steep hill, so bear this in mind even if you get off at the nearest stop. It is not well signposted and is on the corner of avenue du General de Gaulle next to a bus stop. I walked straight past it until someone helped me.

The reception is efficient and spoke excellent english. The apartment itself was a little bit worn but was clean and everything worked. It was also quite spacious. Wifi is available in the room at a price, which I did not check.

I found a great pizza cafe just up the road, and there is also a general store up there with good prices.
