We stayed here for two nights as part of a walking holiday. We were in the annexe, across the road from the reception and restaurant. I think there are some bedrooms in the main building, but I don't know what they're like.
Since we'd spent the previous night sleeping on hay in the loft of a cattle barn, almost anything would have seemed like luxury - but even taking that into account, the Fontana is fine. Rooms are all clean, beds are comfortable; French windows let out onto private balconies with views over the lake, to the mountains beyond.
(Strangely there seems to be a kind of low-budget "shadow" hotel in the back half of the building - this may be staff quarters, not sure.)
The ensuite bathroom suffered from that common complaint in continental hotels - no windows and no extractor fan.
The only real downside is that in between the hotel and the lake are a main road and a railway line, so don't expect idyllic peace and quiet. The...
