Wonderful friendly family run this small spot in old traditional village . The owners were very accommodating leaving the most wonderful oranges you have ever tasted. Besides constantly offering coffee or tea we were left with an excellent home made bean soup one day. The owner of the restaurant closest to the house towards the town square served delightful meals....

The Traditional stone-built House of the Strato's family is situated near the center of the village of Kalavassos, restaurants and coffee shops.It has maintained its unimpaired original character for the last 300 years.Stratos was born around 1865 and he was one of the first school teachers in the whole of Cyprus.He spent much of his time studing.He was a very hospitable person and Strato's House has always been a place to entertain guests and visitors.As you stroll across the stone-paved square towards the narrow streets,look out for number 16, and you will face a large front door, where Mrs Panayiota , granddaughter of Stratos, stands at the doorstep to welcome you.Inside the beautiful courtyard with its two traditional arches is decorated with a large clay vessel which goes back a long way.Four doors lead to the different apartment-suites.The House has 3 large comfortable apartment-suites each one with its own separate bathrooms and kitchen with all the necessary facilities. It has also a smart double room whith a shower-room.Three of the suites can accommodate up to 2 persons and the family suite can accommodate up to 4 persons.All suites are decorated with authentic and original materials from the family through the years.Enjoy all your meals under the arches, or take a book and climb up the stairs to the two vine-covered verandas to read or relax.Nearby(100 metres) there is a private swimming pool with a panoramic view of the village where guests can enjoy swimming in peace.Strato's family can promise you of a peaceful relaxing holiday as well as a warm hospitality in a real authentic Cyprus House.Our guest can feel at home and a member of the family from the very first time.
