We stayed at this hotel whilst visiting a relative closeby in Oakhampton. The premises are very clean & tidy, the rooms excellent value for money and the staff could not be more helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

The George had been under new ownership and management (nine weeks they had been in place) by the time our party of seven arrived. Warm and efficient welcome from the landlord Peter and his team, lovely bar, friendly staff and excellent food. Charming quiet rooms. Good central location between Exeter and Barnstable. Really enjoyable stay. Will definitely return.

New managers are trying hard and haven't yet found their feet; some little things could just make the difference; whilst sympathetic to the excuses, that's not what we wan't to hear on a relaxing weekend break where we look forward to being pampered. Restaurant exceeded our expectations, so we may try again.
