We stayed for one night at the Red Lion and really enjoyed our break. Contrary to some of the experiences had by fellow reviewers, we were prepared for a mediocre mini-break but were pleased as punch with what we found. Our room was pretty small, but fair for the price. Charmingly decorated to suit the place, the room included all... More

We have recently spent a few nights at the hotel, the service, food and accomodation was perfect, the icing on the cake were the staff, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble to them even our request for an extra night, we had to move rooms but even that was taken care of for us, we went out... We held our wedding reception here in April and I just wanted to say a big big thank you to everyone at the Red Lion for the perfect day that they gave us. The food was fantastic and everything that we hoped it would be, the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We loved our Old Peculier... More

We booked before we knew that we were in for a heat wave and the best weather of the year. Nor can I speak for the rooms in red lion hotel itself because we were allocated a room in the annex - the so -called "manor house". And don't be mislead by the name into thinking you are in for... More

We were there for 2 nights for my nieces wedding and booked into the Manor House. I paid extra for a better room but found it small and uncomfortable, God knows what the cheaper rooms were like. Can't believe how disappointed I was because the Hotel itself is beautiful and obviously the location is stunning. The wedding itself was fantastic... More

Many thanks for your positive comments on our food, setting and service and we are glad you enjoyed the wedding. Re your comment about it not being a hotel but a Bed and Breakfast - the room you were staying in at the Manor house is a Bed and Breakfast and only advertised as such. Upon booking you would have... I was part of a wedding party staying in one of the riverside cottages. It was not cheap and therefore I expected the shower to work beyond a trickle. Comfortable bed though. However the most disappointing issue that I must reiterate was the lack of 'the human factor.' If you want to feel welcomed then try somewhere else. I have... More

Many thanks for your recent comments regarding your stay in one of the holiday cottages. Our sincere apologies for the shower not being upto standard. Of course plumbing or maintenance problems do sometimes occur and we always endeavour to resolve these asap after we have been made aware of the problem but as I'm sure you can appreciate it may... We recently visited the restaurant on a Friday evening, the menu was very limited and very disappointing. It was over priced, the portions were small and the presentation was poor. This restaurant claims to be included within the mitchellin guide, it does however not compare to many other restaurants which are far superior and of far better quality than the... More

.. this was the best place we stayed on our walk along the Dales Way. The food was streets ahead of the other places though admittedly the en suite bathroom was the smallest i've ever seen. Our experience was that the Bulgarian waiting staff were delightful & helpful. They had a much better idea of customer service than most of... More

Many thanks for your comments I hope you enjoyed your walking on the popular 'Dales Way route'. We pride ourselves on our homemade food and our great stocked wine cellar, many of these which we source ourselves from France and beyond. Some of our bathrooms in the Manor house Bed and Breakfast are on the small side but the rooms... More

I popped in for an evening meal a few days ago as I was staying in a B&B just up the road. Staff didn't appear very welcoming and seemed reluctant to make eye contact. I was asked whether I had booked ; the reply was in the negative but a small table was found. I nearly collapsed when I was... More

Many thanks for your comments. I hope you enjoyed your meal and I'm pleased our staff found you a table on a very busy evening when you hadn't booked. We welcome guests from all over the world and locals alike and are definitely not cliquey.!! As I'm sure you are aware prices to pubs and hotels for beers have gone... More
