We went to the Hotel to enjoy the "Heartbeat" connection. The mistake was to think that the Hotel side was worthy of a visit. The public bar was "Heartbeat" and was exciting to eat in, but is closed between 6pm and 7pm while the staff eat their dinner so a pre-dinner drink is out of the question. Our room was... More

We called in here for lunch following a 10 mile walk from Levisham. It was busy with visitors, many calling in on the "Heartbeat" theme. The staff were slow, unfriendly and looked harrased due to the number of visitors. I was told in no uncertain terms that my dog "must be kept on a lead at all terms" (which he... More

My wife and I have just returned from The Goathland Hotel (The Adenfield Arms in Heartbeat), we enjoyed our visit despite reading some poor reviews on Trip Advisor. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with a good selection of hot drinks being available, however the TV room was in a very poor state with wallpaper hanging off the wall and... More

My family stay in this hotel every year, sometimes twice a year. Rooms are lovely and clean. Breakfast is second to none and we receive a warm welcome every time. So much so that we are on first name terms with the manager's daughter Hannah. They even bought my dad a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to him in... More

Very disappointed. This hotel claims to be dog friendly but it isn't. The rooms are dated, the one we were in smelt 'doggy'. Shower poor. We'd expect more for £100 a night. Clearly they are trading off the Heartbeat nostalgia but this is no longer enough, we will not return, nor recommend.

We were a little suspicious before we arrived , but all our thoughts were immediately taken away . Just like in Heart Beat. The hotel was not full when we stayed there, but ad we heard it could be crowded in the weekends . The rooms were very nice, the pub as good as a pub could be, great food... More

From our arrival on Monday to leaving on Friday we were welcomed and treated well by all the friendly staff at this character full hotel. Our room was very clean and cosy with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed our tasty breakfast every morning and also an occasional evening meal at he bar in the company of interesting travellers from as... More

We stayed at The Goathland Hotel in room 4 for my mom and dads 15th wedding anniversary, the room was great with a view over looking the garage, the only thing I had against it was there being no tv, but it was fine as we were out sight seeing. I understand the prices as it was the location of... More

Just wanted a nice little break from it all - It was a really lovely hotel and it was great that it was dog friendly - it was very expensive for food and drinks but as they have a captive audience then you have no choice really The food was lovely and the portions were very large - if not... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to our traditional local pub and hotel. We have become world famous by sheer accident but for the very reasons Yorkshire Television chose us we like to think that the very best of an English village pub has been delivered to an international audience. Our belief is that many come because of the fictional Aidensfield but return for the spirit that is Goathland. Essentially we offer the convenience of a small hotel but with a big personality. The hotel has eight en-suite bedrooms; they all have individual characteristics and views of our wonderful moors and timeless village. Our rooms reflect the traditional building and retain all the charm and character of yesteryear. The rooms are all fully equipped with 32" LCD Televisions with Freeview, Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate making facilities and of course all fresh white linens. ... more   less
