We stopped here on our way back from a trip to Yorkshire. A worn out and faded motel that would appear to be near to closing for good, it looks grim on approach from the M62 and certainly lives up to the first impression. The first room allocated stank, but as there were plenty of vacancies getting an alternative was... more

after reading past reviews i was quite scared to go to this hotel but i was presently surprised, yes the exterior is off a 60's flat roofed building but on entering reception i was greeted by a welcoming receptionist. Our bedrooms weres very nice - they had been recently decorated with modern furnishings and was very clean, the leisure facilities... more

Turning off the motorway at dusk, my GPS first takes me to a non-existent turning. Using some common sense, I find a long unkempt driveway through a dark deserted forest. Then out of the darkness in the middle of nowhere looms a collection of pre-fab buildings. No lights, no cars. I enter nervously....... A hotel of horrors? Or have I... more

I last stayed here in `76 (1976) and enjoyed it very much. Dining, dancing, a swim and a nite to remember! This time I had my wife with me!Oh dear! Our room had a window jammed, however a staff lady came swiftly armed with a ladder and power drill and sorted things quickly. Nice lady! Dinner that nite was AWFUL... more

This hotel is one to miss. When we went to eat in the restaurant, we were offered the left overs from a coach parties meal. It was called a carvery but, there was nothing to carve. There were only the left overs that appeared to have been left from a previous meal. The restaurant manager offered us food from the... more

Had a one night stay here in February. Arrived late and very tired. Room also very tired! Dated furniture, a bathroom with no working light and lifting, stained lino, dirty walls. Too tired to grumble so went to get into bed. Pulled bedspread off to find BOTTOM BEDSHEET HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED FROM PREVIOUS GUEST. Sheet crumpled, wrinkled, dirty and... more

Arrived on a mystary trip with Nationel Travell. This is the only way this hotel will get people in. The meals arrived raw and undercooked.on cold... more

On arriving at hotel, it looked run down, the person on reception not very friendly. We decided we would have a drink at bar, found VERY SMALL bar, just opening at 6pm as 2 bus loads of people arrived. After having our drink we thought to have a LIGHT BITE - WE WAITED 1 HOUR AND TWENTY FIVE MINUTES FOR... more

The poor exterior of the hotel is exactly what you get on the inside so if you have not already paid I suggest you find another option I stayed for one night which was one night to much, The curtains were ripped the window was held together by duck tape, the carpet was shabby I had a trouser press with... more

The hotel was probably 3 star, but considering the price of £42 for the night (after seeking out an internet deal) it was fantastic value for money. We didn't use the leisure facilities so cannot comment on the swimming pool or anything else, but the small bar was adequate (you don't get one of those at a Travelodge) and the... more
