A picture of Camus house, in the mid 1800’s, shows a magnificent house high above the loch side, on a plinth hewn from the side of the mountain. The property was owned by a local solicitor, who was around the Fort William area at the same time that the railways were opening up the West Highlands, tourism and forestry were... more

We stayed here for a night en route to the Isle of Skye and glad that we did. We were told about the various hotels and pubs where we could eat in the evening - but spent the night sitting in the bay window of the bedroom with a bottle of wine and watched the Loch - just perfect! We... more

Just back from the camus house lochside lodge and we really did have a great time, the owners Alastair and Louise were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival, the rooms were clean, tidy, well decorated and the views out the bay window were superb. The breakfast was a real starter for the day and I really enjoyed the haggis with... more

We stayed May 26, 2008 and found this B&B to be outstanding in every way and we wished we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone. Our host was very accommodating and most gracious. more

The night before we arrived at Camus House we had stayed at Culag Lochside Guest House on Loch Lomond and the location was fabulous and picturesque and I didn't think it could be topped. I have to say that as we pulled up at Camus house I was slightly disapointed that the main road ran between the house and the... more

We stayed at the Camus house for two nights after dropping our son off at St. Andrews University. Alistair and Louise were wonderful hosts and our room was perfect. We awoke every morning to the view across the Loch. They were both very helpful in directions and advice on what to see and where to eat. We would definitely stay... more

This is exactly why we don't book our accommodations every night in advance. If we had, then we wouldn't have met the Campbells. What a wonderful B&B! After flying from Dublin to Inverness on Aer Arann (on a Mon.) we rented a car (yes, with an auto. trans.) from Europcar in Inverness and drove the length of the Great Glen.... more

Camus House is a beautiful house right on the lochside, 5mins down the road from fabulous Glen Coe. The hosts, Alistair and Louise, are very warm and welcoming. We felt very much at home. Our room was large with views overlooking the loch, a fabulous place to relax after a days' walking. Breakfast was fantastic, my fiance loved the smoked... more

The very first thing we noticed on arrival was the very warm welcome from owners Alistair and Louise. We were treated as if we were personal friends just dropping in for short stay, and were immediately made to feel at home. Everything about this charming Victorian B & B is just about right. The bedrooms are well appointed, smartly decorated... more
