A very warm and friendly village inn with lovely home cooked food. Staff are always willing to help and always friendly. Be warned though, once you get chatting, it's difficult to just have one drink!! It's well worth a visit if you're in the area. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed a Sunday lunch at Llew Coch (Red Lion ) a few weeks ago. It was probably the best Sunday lunch I have had anywhere for a long time. The food was tasty, well cooked, hot , well presented and the service was excellent. The portions were more than adequate - even for someone like me who enjoys her... More

Having a house nearby, I've never stayed, but we never miss an opportunity to go for a meal when in the area. There is always a warm welcome, even from staff we haven't met! The food is reliably good, with a wide selection on the menu. One word of warning though - bring a good appetite or choose a small... More

I stayed with for one night, 18th March 2012. The premises has a wonderfull, cosy friendly and inviting bar which is adorned with brass ornaments of all types. Interestingly, according to a local newspaper cutting the history of this premises goes back to the 12th century. The Red Lion is oozing charm and hospitality, its owners is most likely, one... More

We rented a local holiday cottage, for a long weekend and fell upon the Red Lion, when arriving at the village, late on the Friday night. We went in just to grab a quick bite to eat. What a brilliant discovery! The quality of the food and portion sizes were brilliant, There were plenty of your usual selection of beers... More

It's the second time I've stayed at the Llew Coch, which I stumbled across purley by accident when looking for a decent meal in the area some time back. What a find, the staff are fantastic and manage to create a really friendly atmosphere, which is enhanced by the friendliness of the local people. Beer is good, food is great,... More
