We got a late deal rate and it was so good we stayed an extra night. Hotel rooms very nice with soft beds and nice linen. Right on the harbour slipway, so as close to the sea as you can get. Nice log fire burning all day in the bar, great attentive staff and excellent meals made from top quality... More

We stayed at the Lugger last september, absolutely wonderful, a bit hairy driving down to the Lugger Hotel. We are going back this September for our friends special birthday and anniversary who are coming over from New Zealand. For something special I can well recommend the Lugger Deirdre and Ken Howell Lee on the Solent Hants More

Stayed at the Lugger Hotel end of December having had afternoon tea there on a couple of occasions previously. Very impressed - knew it was a lovely spot but the overall package exceeded expectations. Cream tea, very good dinner, pre meal nibbles and coffee all included and the icing on the cake was hot chocolate and marshmellow waiting in the... More

Stayed here for a break in January (special offer) after friends recommended the hotel.Amazing location, like you hope Cornwall will be but often isn't due to overdevelopment.Hotel is well furnished,we were in the cheaper rooms but still had a glimpse of the sea.Great attention to detail, hot chocolate at bedtime, cakes in your room when you return in the afternoon.Great beds ,bedding and... We stayed at The Lugger Hotel between Christmas and New Year 2011. We stayed in room 302 (double) and room 312 (twin); we moved from 302 after the first night as our bed was very soft and uncomfortable for two sharing (we met in the middle!). The hotel staff were very helpful in changing our room to a twin and... More

i am late writing this, visited in April. Wonderful little hotel. Dreamy views, adorable village. You will spend time walking around wondering if you can buy a property there. Nice little pub in the village too with friendly landlord. Must go back. Food to die for -if a little pricey-. All in all good for a quiet few days for... More

Loved staying in this remote little fishing village in Cornwall. We had a lovely room overlooking the tiny port, the food was very good (especially the oysters) although the service wasn't top notch in the restaurant (the hotel itself was flawless). Will return. More

We stayed at The Lugger in April (I am late to leave this review) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cliff walks from this spot are fantastic, and you can't get a more quaint and picturesque location in the heart of the old fishing village. Our room was well appointed and we had an excellent night's sleep, but you... More

Many thanks for your kind comments about The Lugger. As you say, it is a fantastic location, where you can do as much or as little as you wish and the views from the Hotel and cliff top walks are amazing. We are delighted you enjoyed your meal in the Restaurant where we do endeavour to offer an efficient and... More

What a gem of a place! We hoped The Lugger would live up to the excellent reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint. From the warm welcome when we arrived, to the log fire and cosy sofas, the wonderful food to the little extras in the bedrooms (cake, sweets etc - well documented in other posts), this hotel is pure class... Thank you for sharing your comments, it’s great to hear The Lugger lived up to expectations, although sorry to read you found the mattress hard. These are Hypnos and generally found most comfortable, but we will look into that. We do have feather pillows and bedding available, let us know when you book again, so we can make sure these... Wonderful atmosphere and absolutely stunning food. A perfect place for a quiet weekend (just try to avoid the room next to the boiler as this can be a little noisy). More
