The Morar Hotel sits in a fabulous location overlooking the beautiful white sandy bay of the River Morar estuary and is the ideal location for a weekend break in this area. Only 3 or 4 miles from Mallaig with the railway station just the other side of the road where the Steam Train passes on its way from Fort William... more

Stayed at the Morar for two nights with my husband and daughter -special offer by the hotel - excellent value for money, well positioned hotel, very scenic, rooms adequate and clean, food good, staff helpful. However, on our visit, the service in the dining room was so slow it was ridiculous. By the second morning we were even making jokes... more

The Morar Hotel had apparently been closed during the winter months. It is perhaps for this reason that the place seemed a bit "tired". There was somethinbg of a mix-up over our booking and it is perhaps for this reason that we were allocated the room we were in. Maybe I should have pushed for an upgrade. However, for its... more

My daughter held her wedding reception here on the 22nd May, the hotel was basic but very clean, the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make Shonagh's day special, there was nothing they would not do even going as far as to change the menu the night before the wedding so that Shonagh and Ian could... more

Getting this place when the ferry to Isle of Skye gets cancelled was a blessing. Really the 11th hour. Am sure an earlier booking would have got a better room. Beautiful view from the hotel location. Very picturesque. Tucked on top of a hill in front of the Morar railway station (Glasgow-Mallaig route). Good huge room with 2 bunker bed... more

Went on the train with my mum for the 2 night dbb deal - fantastic value. The hotel is right next to the railway station in beautiful surroundings and only one stop from Mallaig and ferry to Skye, so the location is fantastic and very convenient. The service when we checked in and for the 2 days of our stay... more

The rooms are comfortable with excellent views. The weather could have been better, but it was nice to watch the tide coming in and the rain blowing against the windows while we were warm and comfortable inside! Rooms come equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. We were aware of quite noisy neighbours in the room next door, so... more
