You cannot help but feel very special when you stay at the Lion Inn. The hosts, Fiona and Tim do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Our room was woderful, warm, inviting, cosy, with all amenities, ensuite, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities (even biscuits) quiet. The food was amazing!! Fiona must have studied at the Cordon Bleu... After a long day of driving from London, traveling over the hills and through the woods to this tiny village, we found very inviting hosts. As everyone has said, Tim and Fiona are delightful in every way. On our request, we received restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, history of the area, and insight into Welsh living. The accomodations were outstanding and... More

We stayed for three nights over the New Year break and had a fantastic time. Fiona and Tim were brilliant from the start. The rooms were spotless and warm and cosy, but the highlight had to be the food. Fiona's cooking was out of this world and I haven't dared get on the scales yet. The location was great for... More

When the decision was made to travel from South to North Wales with friends for the Snowdon Marathon, we found The Lion Inn on the internet after a Sunday of much debate as to where we should stay. It was the one resting place upon which we could all agree and we were certainly not disappointed. Tim and Fiona were... More

This is a complete gem of a place. Pitch-perfect in the attention to detail without fussiness, the quality without pretention and the warmth of a welcome that made us feel instantly at home but was never forced, over the top or overwhelming. We arrived absolutely exhausted and in little over 36 hours felt more rested, relaxed and pampered than I... More

Stayed for 1 night, which was not nearly long enough. What a fabulous place. After reading all the reviews I decided to book the Inn for our first night in Wales with the Canadian relatives, (tried to book 2 nights but Tim and Fiona do not open on Monday or Tuesday in Winter). Such a warm and friendly greeting, all... More

Having driven over 300 miles from Creagan House in Scotland to Gwytherin, we waited for about half an hour for the Inn to open and then discovered that they had lost our reservation. The recommended alternative was a complete disappointment. More

SHAME ON WHO? For any accommodation provider the nightmare of a double booking is a situation you trust will never happen. On a busy Sunday, having booked in 6 parties to our 6 rooms we were confronted by this Gentleman who believed that he had booked to stay with us. Initially we reeled back in horror that we had created... More
