In the middle of nowhere, still one of the most beautiful locations in Norway on route 55 (Jotunheimen) about 20km from Lom. Coming from Geiranger and going to Flam, this was a great stop. The sign at the entrance makes it all clear: 'this is not a museum'. Well, it is. One to live in. Very small and basic but... More

Arriving at Røisheim is traveling in time. The way we were greeted and the reception area. Our room with a fireplace and a new, traditional Norwegian bed worth a princess. The size of the wall timber. You realize that all this have been there for some time. We had an excellent dinner based on local or close to local produce.... More

Our room, albeit small, was snug and cozy. We spent one rainy day by the fireplace reading and unwinding. Glacial hiking was terrific followed by an amazing dinner. Just wandering around Roisheim is worth the price. Few places like this exist. Lom stave church nearby. We will return.

As it turns out we were very lucky and had a larger than normal room with table and chairs. We were very comfortable in the room although the room was a fairly basic farm type room. But let me give the pros and cons: Pros: large room with ample space, Haarvard, the host was wonderful, as was his daughter and... More

This is one of the most far-out hotels we've stayed in. It dates from the 1700s, when it was a coaching station. It describes itself as "Rich in tradition for the discerning and adventurous". That just about sums it up! The rooms are in a series of huts, each completely different. Ours was in a hut containing two rooms -... More

We stayed here whilst touring in Norway. The hotel is enchanting and we were looked after very well. The dinner was one of the best we ate and the owner was most helful in choosing the wine. Our one recommendation is not to have a room on the ground floor if you are a light sleeper as the fllors are... More

Ok, so its a little ironic that one would have to pay 1700 NOK to live the traditional Norwgeian "poor man's" life. On the other hand, this is a place you will only be spending one night and the experience will absolutely be worth it. First of all the location is amazing. You are close to several well-known Norwegian tourist... More
