We stayed here twice. First time, in the MOTEL, where the two queen beds were each too close to the wall to exit the bed on the wall side. Second time, we stayed in the B & B, which was CHEAPER, and x 1,000 times better (rooms facing the sea and the spectacular sunsets, plus a large shared kitchen!) The... More

I ended up here as my first few choices were all closed for the season. It's a decent motel with nice concierge staff. The room was right on the water, which was lovely. I was told it would normally cost more, but she charged me the non-view rate. I actually expected this - being off-season with only a few guests.... More

We were there with a coach tour. The rooms are simple but provide all you need. The beds were good. The food in the dining room is good. The manager came by our table and asked us to let him know if anything about our stay needed to be addressed. All the staff were friendly. The motel building is attached... More

Staff: pleasant Room: Clean ... 1980's revisited ... OK Beds: Relatively comfortable Breakfast: Not included ... we ate all meals for two days in the restaurant. We would recommend ... not fancy, but not evil.

Cabins are clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well-provisioned. Some of the linens were a little thin but overall things were in good order. Hair dryer, iron/ironing board provided which were little extras that we don't always see. Only downside is that the surroundings are not very pretty - basically, it's two rows of cabins lined up facing each... More

We stayed at the Shallow Bay Motel for 2 nights Aug 4 and Aug 7, We had 15 rooms, all of which were spotless, and most of them with beautiful Ocean or Mountain view rooms. The staff go out of their way to accommadate their guests. The Shallow bay has various room types, regular hotel rooms, delux rooms with ocean... More

Junior helped us out when we came to town with no place to stay. We had both dinner (wonderful seafood chowder and the best homemade bun) and breakfast at the motel.

I have stayed at this motel on several occasions. If your plan is to visit the Northern Peninsula then this is a great jumping off spot. Was not pleased with the initial $129 per night but when asked for a discount was given one. Our room was on the water and gave a great view. The food was good and... More

If you are travelling to Newfoundland & want to see that area of Gross Morne, its the best place to stay. The restaurant at the Motel has amazing meals: try their Newfie Jigs dinner, or their Lobster Dinner. Also their Pea Soup in amazing. They have a cute little fitness center, however we were too busy eating in the restaurant... More

We stumbled upon this motel after abandoning our campsite during a wild and windy night... what a great surprise! 109/night, outdoor hot tub, super-friendly service, TWO stage productions (one next door and one in the conference room)..... Certainly a welcome surprise!
