Cucugnan, an interesting small village, is a great place to access the Cathar castles. The Auberge du Vigneron was charming, with helpful friendly owners. Our room was rustic, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The ensuite was modern, small and with lots of hot water. Dinner in the restaurant was a highlight of our ten days in France. The cellar restaurant was atmospheric and the food was superb. The highlight for my husband was a bubbling dish of the regional cassoulet. more
