The service at Yamano's was excellent. It was only a quick 3 mins drive from Hakuba Station and they have a free pick up service. When we arrived at the hotel, we were shown our room, which we took the Japanese style one. We wanted a non smoking room, but i think there arent any for the Japanese style ones,... more

It may not be the most luxurious of all but it is defenitely the best hotel ever in terms of service, quality and value. The food is unbelievably good, healthy and with excellent presentation. We stayed in the japanese-style room and it was an incredible experience! Bedding elements were very comfortable and warm. The view from every room is unbelievable!... more

We stayed here for 5 nights on a ski vacation. We have been to Hokkaido many times skiing, and this was our first time in Nagano. The Yamano Hotel was excellent - the family-run hotel is clean, small, with very decent and wholesome food. They rent good ski equipment, and the managers are extremely helpful with skiing, local town, and... more

Stayed here in early Mar 2009. Booking the place was fantastically easy and efficient, email the hotel and they will reply promptly (thanks, Monica!). Not that expensive as compared to the other available hotels/inns considering that it is a ski village. They picked us up from the bus station and showed the 4 of us (2 couples) to our 2... more

We were here for 3 nights during the winter ski season. The hotel is operated by a family and they are very helpful. The place feels more like a B&B rather than a hotel because of the personal service, we really felt like part of the family by the time we left. They took a picture of us during the... more

We stayed here for 6 days and had a fantastic time. We had a bad run with fresh powder as it didn't snow for 4 days but the hotel owners and manager are second to none with service. The would look after you in every way possible and go out of their way to get you rolling with whatever you... more

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel exceeded our expectations thanks mainly to the very friendly staff and the superb and plentiful food on offer. The room was excellent, the meals were excellent and above all the hospitality was excellent. The hotel has a great location and good facilities. Thank you again for your kind, generous and warm hospitality. more

This was a top notch experience. The staff was fabulous -- picked us up at the bus stop in Happo after the very easy ride from Nagano, arranged lift tickets, picked us up at a nearby restaurant when all taxis were busy due to snow storm. The food was fabulous, and the Happo-one lifts a short walk away, the Hakuba... more

I'm glad I listened to the reviews on this site, It was a warm, inviting place with the best personal service I'd seen. The hotel staff went out of their way to drop us off, pick us up at each destination. And the best thing was the view and the french 4 course dinner. Delicious! The only downsides (as a... more

This is a nice hotel near the Ski Jumping Staion. It is run by 2 brothers and the Romanian wife. They speak very good English. It has splendid views surrounding the hotel. There is a free pickup/drop off service at the JR Hakuba Station. We had a triple Japanese-style room. The room was clean and spacious. My husband had an... more
