My wife and I stayed here in May 2009 for our honeymoon for three nights. The meals were so big that we couldn't really finish them and never had to eat lunch. The service was impeccable.

We stayed for three nights at this perfect ryokan. The staff is very friendly, the most hospitable persons we had ever met! Rooms are large and very clean. All day fresh hot water and tea at your room. The onsen is great with a separate one for men and one for women. Meals are really great, breakfast is real Japanese... More

The ambience and the hospitality here are balm for the soul. The food at both breakfast and dinner is first-rate - even my notoriously critical Japanese husband enthused over it. They will make up packed lunches too, which we didn't try, but can imagine would be similarly high quality. The rooms are typically tiny, with Japanese-style toilets (slightly smelly) and... More

This is a traditional ryokan, a little on the run down side, but compensated by very caring and attentive service. Nothing is too much bother. It took 15 minutes help my wife tie her obi (for her yukata), right in the middle of the busy dinner period, but this was done with the best of grace, including time for a... More

We only stayed at Meigetsu for 1 night and it was lovely. The location was good and easy walk from Train station (even though Tsuwano is small so most places would be a good location I'd assume). Also very close to the old samurai district and the famous "carp channels". The staff were very friendly and spoke English well enough.... More

I spent 1 night at Norennoyado and it was unforgettable. The old lady in charge of the inn strived to make us feel at home. The bath was great and the food AMAZING!, We also loved the room with views to a beautiful garden. The next morning we had to leave at 6:30 to catch the train to Hagi, although... More

I loved my two nights stay at Meigetsu and will return soon i hope. Everybody has been so nice to me there, the cypress hot bath so relaxing to soak in after a day of visits, my room was pristine, comfy, large and well appointed. I even had my own bathroom attached. Both dinner and breakfast were superb and so yummy... More
