Me and my girlfriend looked for a good ryokan with nice onsen in september 2011. Thanks to the tourist information in Kumamoto we found Nanjoen Ryokan in Kurokawa. The staff here was very very friendly, the onsen were very nice and often available for private use and the food was terrific (traditional Japanese food). We could tell that non-Japanese guests...
