We went to the Olivella for a weekend getaway and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located approximately 7 km from Lugano. It is a charming little hotel right on the lake with beautiful views. My wife and I just spent 4 days at the hotel in a garden view room: forget the garden view and keep the curtains closed. The hillside view is of no interest however the room is small but lovely (see picture) - a typical large city 4* room. From what we saw the rooms facing the lake are quite larger... more

The Swiss Diamond Hotel is locates about 8 km from Lugano. It's right on the lake with beautiful views. Is has several restaurants and it's a good place for meetings. Rooms are big and new. Often full at weekends and rather empty over the week. more

We stopped at the hotel for a few days to see Lugano during a driving trip from Florence to Switzerland. Sadly, it rained heavily which obscured much of the lake's beauty. The hotel is a little gem, very clean and professional. The spa has limited facilities indoors but if the weather had been better, we would have enjoyed much more... more

My family stayed at the Swiss Diamond on a recent trip to Italy and Switzerland. Rooms are reasonable size and have a lovely view of the lake. This hotel is highly UNDER rated in Trip Advisor. It should be ranked in the Top 2 or 3. Just as a comparison, we stayed in this hotel just before staying in the Hotel Du Lac (in Lugano). This hotel was fabulous. We got a great deal due to the time of year and basically we could not have afforded the summer rates. This is a fine hotel with a superb customer service attitude. Rooms are both unusually large and unusually elegant. Bathrooms are spacious and remarkably well-appointed. Lake-side rooms have comfortable balconies (we ate a meal on ours) with superb views of Lake Lugano, marred only by the busy road between the hotel and the Lake.
