A truly warm and friendly welcome. Delightfully furnished accommodation and each day starting with a breakfast par excellence - home-made breads , superb yoghurt and an exciting choice of preserves all served on a large table where guests can eat and chat in leisurely fashion in a typical French dining-room. We were thrilled to have found Le Manoir de Bois... more

Francoise and Thierry are very warm hosts with a charming home and rooms. Off the beaten track but very easy to find and within short drive of: Calais and St Omer; walking distance 20mins to Ardres village center or approx 7 euros in a taxi. Home made yoghurt, jam and freshly baked breads were a delicious start to the morning.... more

Le Manoir is a beautiful place and M Roger a very charming and amenable host (his wife was away whilst we were there - therefore no home-made bread) - but those beds!!!!!! One gets used to decent beds in hotels so sleeping on these was absolute agony; especially for someone like me with back problems. The sheets were really damp... more

We stayed here on the first and last night of our holiday to Brittany with our ten year old in the Bamboo Room. If you are looking for an authentic french retreat, then we think you will find it here. The fact that we stayed in the "outhouse" made us feel even more like the Three Musketeeers, and the quirkiness... more

Driving up to the B&B we were happy we had the GPS, as it took us on narrow street into the countryside late in evening. The host Thierry showed us a newly renovated room in the annex. It was clean, warm and dry. The breakfast choise was large and it was made to order. We liked it so much that... more

We were totally surprised at some of the negative reviews of Au Manoir!! We have been coming to the Rogers beautiful home for over 10 years with friends and have always been made to feel welcome by M and Mme Roger. Their house, barn conversion and gite are all tastefully and comfortably decorated and we always feel so relaxed staying... more

We found this charming, quirky B&B purely by accident, having been recommended the fireworks by the lake at Ardres one Bastille day. That was 8 years ago, and we have been back nearly every year since, sometimes twice, we liked it so much. Most visitors use it as a handy stop off point either to or from the south of... more

WE have been astonished and saddened to read the unfavourable reviews about this charming BandB. We travel frequently between our Provencale Mas and the Isle of Man and have stayed at the Manoir on many occasions. The building, which was in fact the home farm of the original manoir before it burnt down many years ago has been delightfully rebuilt with... more

We arrived with an elderly parent and were very surprised not to be in the Manor itself which looked very beautiful. Instead we were directed round to what appeared to be the servants' quarters, very rundown and dark, accessed by very uneven path over grass which was almost impossible for anyone with mobility problems. The stairs were twisted and steep... more

We booked this accomodation after finding it on Alastair Sawdays website. We thought it looked like something a bit different we would like to try. We had been travelling around France and Belgium and staying in 4 and 5 star hotels. They were all very good, but we were at this stage a little bored with the "sameness". We arrived... more
