A spacious elegasnt house with a warm welcome for a pair of weary walkers. A great breakfast and Tim and Ruth couldn`t have done enough for us.

We stayed at the Mill Water House for one night as we were visiting River Cottage. On arrival our hosts Tim and Ruth made us feel very welcome, showed us to a very good sized room with en suite shower room. Room and en suite were very well decorated and very clean. Tea and coffee provided in the room, hairdryer... More

We stayed at MWH in Axminster 2 nights, for we attended a wedding in the area. Besides being of very high standards, the place is full of a character. We (the two of us and our 15 monts daughter) simply loved it ! Thank you Tim and Ruth for your kind hospitality (best breakfast ever).

If you're heading to the River Cottage HQ and fancy being near the Axminster Canteen, rather than staying out on the Coast in Lyme Regis, then you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stay than Mill Water House. Located perfectly, the house is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive from the River Cottage Canteen, and... More

Like many others, we stayed at MWH whilst also sampling the food at River Cottage Canteen. I have stayed at many B&Bs, this is one of the better one's. Excellent breakfast considering the reasonable price of a night's stay. When we were staying they only took cash. Not sure if this is a permanent or temporary thing.

A very pleasant stay in Axminster. We had a fabulous large room which was great as we had our 2 year daughter in a travel cot. the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Supplying fresh milk and a variety of teas is great. The house was super convenient to Axminster town centre.

Friendly welcome , warm comfortable large bedroom , home cooked breakfast & reasonably priced. Mill Water House is just 5 minutes to River Cottage HQ & 2 minutes to Axminster centre for River Cottage Canteen.Everything came together for a "smashing" weekend.

I can only endorse all the previous glowing reports of this delightful place. Tim and Ruth were extremely welcoming hosts. It was so interesting to hear about the history of the Mill and their involvement in it - a continual "business in progress" as Tim put it with regard to the changes to the place over the years. Two of... More

My wife and I stayed here over New Year, as we were booked into the River Cottage Canteen for the New Year celebrations (RCC is an easy walk of about 10 minutes from Mill Water House, which made it very convenient). The house is located just off the A358 in a quiet spot down a private drive. It's an impressive... More

I booked this B&B for a weekend's break and to go for dinner at River Cottage HQ. It is very conveniently located - only a few minutes walk to the centre of Axminster, yet once you're on the driveway you feel like you're in a quiet secluded spot! Building is lovely, rooms spotless and comfortable overlooking the pretty garden and... More
