This BB is probably at the pinacle of quality - run by a geniune couple with real passion for quality, decor and value in all they do. The location is just out of town and yet close enough to be a short walk down the hill into the centre. If you are planning on eating out nearby - book first,... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Highfield Bed & Breakfast....Judy and Hedley were welcoming and accommodation from the moment we arrived to when we left, nothing was a problem! They made our trip down for a friend's wedding nearby easy and extremely comfortable. Very nice rooms: well-decorated, clean and nicely furnished. Excellent breakfast choices, from an amazing fried breakfast to... more

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend break as we'd booked in for the River Cottage HQ experience. The owners, Judy and Hedley made our stay very welcome, and both are very warm and friendly hosts. The room was spotless and the wireless internet was fast. Breakfast was Amazing, starting with deliciously ripe mixed fruits followed by the... more

Stayed at Highfield for one night on our travels through south-west England. We were off to a Friday night at River cottage and Highfield is very handy if you're going to either the canteen in Axminster or River Cottage HQ which is not far away. Judy & Hedley were outstanding hosts, warm & friendly, full of good advice, professional but... more

The service was fantastic at this B&B. Very clean and tidy rooms and only a few minutes walk away from Axminster centre. Five minutes drive took us to Lyme Regis where we had a lovely walk along the beach. We would definitely stay here again. more

You forget there are lovely people in the world, Judy and Hedley are wonderful people, we really enjoyed our stay, so clean, gorgeous rooms, a warm welcoming and friendly atmosphere, so much to choose from for breakfast, but Judy's cooked breakfast is excellent, to die for. Many Thanks to them both for a lovely weekend. more

We chose this B&B because of the close proximity to River Cottage HQ and River Cottage Canteen. It was a birthday treat for myself and I wasn't disappointed. It is a beautiful house elegant, clean, cosy and immaculate. Well worth the money and we will be returning again later in the year. Fantastic friendly, helpful people and fault less breakfast. more

I stayed here for one night in February 2009 and chose this particular B&B as it is within easy walking distance of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's Canteen in Axminster. The hosts are really friendly and welcoming, the rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated and the breakfast was also top notch! I would totally recommend this B&B as a great place to... more
