Vidin is an industrial city and we chose not to stay two nights because we felt it just wasn't "us". However, it is on the Danube and there is a pleasant walk along the river. We went to the fort, but did not pay to go in. It looked ok, but we had seen better.

I wouldn't waste readers' time with the cocky staff, having an attitude problem supervisors that are so self-centered forgetting who is doing who a favor in the service industry. Best by far of all four Vidin hotels Ive stayed in. I recommend it to all travellers. Located on edge of Danube promenade and public gardens, very close to town centre, Baba Vidin fortress, mosque, synagogue, Danube, museums. Spacious and modern rooms in renovated historic building.
