A true heritage hotel created within the old fort, under the direction of Ravi Bana, current head of the family who built it. Extremely welcoming and friendly staff, good food (cooler eating outside), fantastic room with fab sunset and sunrise views from the ramparts. Truly rural Rajasthan, we enjoyed a close look at the local village and the children had... More

Fantastic locations, attentive staff, fabulous food, beautiful views, spacious comfortable suite - Loved it! Thanks to all for making it the highlight of our trip to India. The boat trip and lunch in the ruined temple will live long in the memory.

Ramathra Fort is a wonderful place in a most interesting and attractive location. We stayed three days in a beautiful refurbished suite in the main fort with the most fantastic views. Gitanjali was a very good host and the staff, who are almost all from the adjacent village could not have been more helpful and enthusiastic. The food was also... More

Tenting in Canada was never like this. We arrived in the dark after a fascinating and thrilling ride from Gangapur City. The welcome was just an appetizer for the next day. Missed Ravi but Gitanjali was such a lovely host. Then standing on the walls of the fort and watching the countryside come alive in the morning, first the blue... More

Can't fault this place. In the countryside, very well kept, beautiful surroundings, service friendly, food in the "full board" buffet style was nice. A small piece of luxury in rural Rajasthan. We stayed 2 nights in the luxury tents. Fantastic

Deep in the heart of the beautiful Rajasthan countryside. a small fort converted into an informal hotel. The family is very much in evidence, looking after guests and joining them for drinks at sundowners. The tented rooms are fantastic. A wonderfuil, relaxing experience. Two noights wefre not enough. It would be even better if it had a pool

Recently we stayed for 2 nights at Ramathra Fort, which has been painstakingly and very tastefully restored by its owners Rajpal and Githanjali.Listening to the birds tweeting myriad tunes and the sound of cowbells clanking as the cattle make their way to graze on the surrounding hillocks as you wake up after a peaceful slumber was utterly blissful. The excellent food... More

Stay for as long as you can! Peacful rural setting with spectacular views. Accommodation very very comfortable. Good food, great walks and lots of wildlife...the road is pretty tough, so make it at least a two night stay.

I belong to a travel group (women on the go) 18 ladies traveled to India in Nov.2012, one of our stops was at Ramathra Fort. It is run by a lovely couple Thakur Brijendra Raj Pal and his family. It is a beautiful fort surrounded by stone walls around the perimeter. There is a great view, it is like stepping... More

We stayed for 2 nights over new year. The location is stunning, sitting atop a hill with 360 degrees panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. We stayed in a suite with sunset views and a large balcony including bather and shower, and an open fire in the room which was lit and tended for us through the evening. Luxurious! Hospitality...
