This hotel has got to be seen to be believed! A Maharaja's palace built in the 1930s, its a beautiful maze of gorgeous rooms full of antiques and old photographs, there's even a Billiard Room! The rooms are beautiful - clean, luxurious (for India) the AC worked well and the day beds on the private veranda was a lovely touch!... More

When we walked up to this hotel I was amazed. We had just come from a great hotel in Jaipur and then we show up here and it was spectacular. We were greeted at the entrance with a blessing and a red dot put on our foreheads. We then entered into the reception area that looked like a dated hunting... More

We really had a great time and wished we had booked two or three nights. The children could wonder round the grounds we ended up with a whole sweet if not wing of the palace for the price of two rooms. Very quirky. So friendly. I would say that most of the time as in our visit the pool was... More

We were uncertain at what to expect from our stay here and were delighted with what we found. A lovely grand old indian house with acres of grounds, containing a dairy, horses, chickens and an organic vege patch suppling milk and veges for our meals. The chickens were strictly for eggs! The village is a definate hilight, with narrow roads... More

If you're looking for five-star, forget it. But if you're looking for a few nights in a comfortable museum, a grand Indian house redolent of the Raj, then this is the place for you. Four of us stayed here for a few nights in early January and it was one of the highlights of a month in India. We were... More

We had a much needed couple of quiet days at Bhanwar Vilas, they took great care of us, we learned a lot and had great experiences. The house was built, furnished and decorated by the grandfather of the current owner (a delightful host), and it is as though nothing has changed. It is an Art Deco country house, and terrific... Stayed here as part of a group tour. I found the general run down appearance of this “ hotel” saddening. Clearly it has passed it’s heyday and others have clearly found this wonderfully atmospheric. Not so for me. The room we had was spacious but minimal with no phone or TV. In addition, the food was disappointing. As one reviewer... More

Loved this place. Dining here was an experience - sitting at a big huge table that seated about 20 people. Food was a buffet style menu. All rooms different with different colours and furnishings. Downstairs rooms had a courtyard with day beds outside the rooms that you could sit and relax. We got to see the vintage car collection of... More

We stayed here on an independent tour of Rajasthan and Maydha Pradesh and were given two enormous deluxe rooms, each with dressing room, shower room and WC sharing a sitting room and dining room with beautiful marble table from Agra. The rooms themselves were perfectly comfortable with good bedside lighting (one of only two heritage hotels in India where I... More

The Bhanwar Vilas Palace offers the potential for a memorable stay. Living in the shadow of its past grandeur and glory, the “royal” family entertains guests with its warm and unique hospitality in this faded, but still atmospheric old mansion. The facility needs upgrade, but our suite room was very spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and decent bathroom/shower.... More
