well, at least my room was. some bed bugs too, i had an itchy evening. the staff however was nice and the coffee shop across the street is pleasant enough. just not a terribly interesting town all told, much better places to spend one's time and money. arjuna's penance is pretty cool though.

We found this to be a delightful place to stay in Mahabilipuram. The service is quietly carried out the helpful staff always willing to help with inquiries and requestes. We used the car booking with them to get from Chennai and everything was as promised. We would stay here again it is a convienient location, clean and comfortable.

The place charges more than other nearby guest houses but no difference actually. The rooms are clean but we could hardly sleep due to the mosquitoes. No hot water in the bathrooms. The location is good, walking distance from the beach and in the happening areas of Mamallapuram. Won't go here if i visit the place again.

It was a nice place to stay in a good location. It amuses me when I see people complaining about a place where you pay £5.70 a night.. don't expect to have room service and a nice bouquet of flower waiting for you. Despite a thumbs-up from Lonely Planet there's nothing particularly appealing about this central locale. The hip-hop, or whatever name this concussive music bears today, booms from a little restaurant across the street. Add to that, a fairly unfriendly staff and your best bet might be to look elsewhere.

The hot water and the shower were great. The bed were clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. It's in a great spot, right in the middle of all the restaurants and shopping. I recommend trying the crepes across the road, nutella and banana! are best.

Our last stop in our three month India trip - this hotel was fairly standard for India. Bed was firm but not rock hard, linens clean. A/C worked well with two fans in our room. When we stayed in October 2010 the rooms were 400 - 700rps per room. The price and quality are fine and perfectly ok for travellers. It`s a good budget address.

This guesthouse was low quality but was a very cheap price. We were not provided with towels and had to ask for some bedsheets. The room was grubby but did have a tv and attached bahroom. Looking around there were much better guesthouses around. Look around.
