We have just returned from our first ever trip to Scotland and what a tale of contrasts. We had a very indifferent city stay, in a modern Glasgow hotel , where everything seemed too much trouble, and then we moved on to our next destination. Stayed for one night, disappointed with the double room no.5. Very small more like a single room size, en-suite shower also tiny. Good points were the breakfast and lounge bar which was very homely and comfortable. more
Room five is advertised as a small double and is a significantly lower price than our other large rooms. It is newly decorated and has a fantastic view over Loch Feochan.
The service, room and location were absolutely perfect for my short trip to this part of Scotland. Would highly recomend this establishment to anybody more
This was our first trip to Scotland, and Jon and Cherry at Braeside helped make it a favorite future destination! Jon's love of history and of Scotland made him a wealth of interesting, entertaining information. We stayed at this lovely Guesthouse for four nights arriving in early May. Its very easy to locate and is about 3 miles outside of Oban. this concerned us initially but we found it very convenient and so much better than being in the busy seaside town itself that it became a very big plus. At 17.00, seeking a place to stay in the pouring rain, we came across the Braeside Guest House with a vacancy sign!! Into the car park and 'yes' a Twin en suite was available. John made us feel very welcome and directed us to the rear car park which has direct access to the houes. Good size room with storage... more
