Really disappointing meal, service very cold and unfriendly, from staff and the landlord. Our food was nice, but others in our party were unhappy with the steaks as extremely tough, they had to pay extra for steak, as we were only offered a set menu, due to the size of our group. Not once were we asked if our food was okay, nicely... More

We stayed at the nearby Old Butchers B&B and enjoyed two evening meals at the Red Lion. They were good value for money with creative touches above your average pub grub style enhanced by well priced, well served beer and wine. The main bar is part of the former local court house with a log fire, extensive book shelves and... More

We have stayed at the Red Lion and eaten in the restaurant many times over the past nine months. It now feels like our local. The staff and owners are so helpful and friendly, and the food is great. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The inn is 'quirky' and many of the features are original. Books to look at on every... More

We've stayed at this old inn several times - on one occasion taking a party with us for a celebration - and have been most impressed by the food and hospitality. Yes, the noise comes up through the old floorboards into the bedrooms. But this is a pub that has stayed a lively "local" and not let the catering take... More

Spent another wonderful night at the Red Lion. The second time this year and full of beautiful character, warmth and hospitality. The staff cannot do enough for you and food was great. Took the inlays for their Christmas break and they could not be happier. A real little gem and we will be back.
