I visited here for over a week in January for work purposes.

Note that, a few days after I left, ownership and management of the Ship Hotel passed from those running it during my stay to a new couple. A colleague has been there briefly since the new management took over. His reports suggest that my experience remains a valid assessment of the place.

I was in a single room. It was clean. The shower was good. However, it was decidedly small. The problem with the room, and there is one (room 5) is that it has a window which is located directly above the bus stop. I was woken each morning at 6am when the bus stopped for an inordinately long time and the driver appeared to enjoy revving the engine ! No smell but noise and vibration !!

The staff were attentive and efficient. The food was good, from cooked breakfasts to interesting and extensive evening meals via reliable "pub food" style lunches.
