George and Debra have a lovely old manor home in Alnwick,Northumbria. Four large bedrooms with large and luxurious ensuites are a treat to relax in. Our wonderful hosts provided a full English breakfast and lots of helpful info about the area. Alnwick is not too far from the excitement of the Olympics in London this summer. We recommend people check... More

We had a delighful 2 night stay in this excellent, period house which has high quality recently modernised features( but in a fine period style).Period quality furnishings and fittings:warm ( log stove fires), perfectly clean, delightful drawing room, bedrooms and bathroom. Situated in a quiet area, super for coast and inland: nearby Belford ( shops, post office, good pm restaurants... More

I have just returned from a short break in Northumbria. The Preston House was a beautiful place to stay and worth every penny. Luxurious surroundings and extremely attentive and welcoming hosts in Debbie and George. If you enjoy peace and tranquility you will love it here, yet it is still only ten minutes from Alnwick and a couple of minutes... More

Beautiful peaceful location. Warm and welcoming hosts. Super comfy bed, thick carpet and lovely furnishings throughout. My mrs liked the REN toiletries! Also, fantastic breakfast! Super baked pears and I loved the Craster kippers. Great location for visiting various parts of beautiful Northumberland. Make sure you visit Preston Tower opposite. Very impressive with glorious grounds teeming with wildlife. Sitting up... More

A warm welcome, a beautifully comfortable room (No 2); an enormous bathroom, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. All this and the pleasure of watching two red squirrels in the garden, through the dining room window, as we were munching on our cooked breakfast (full English for hubby; Craster kippers for me). Would also recommend visiting Preston tower opposite... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Preston House, we were welcomed effusively by Deborah, George and their two doggie scamps. Beautiful bedroom with lots of lovely ornaments and treasures to admire. Watched lambs playing in the fields whilst eating an excellant breakfast but unfortunately the red squirrels eluded us. Lots of places to visit and explore, we look forward to... More

My mother and I were warmly welcomed to Preston House by owners George and Debbie. The house is beautifully decorated, the bedrooms and ensuites were very comfortable and thoughtfully furnished (extra blankets, shoe mats for muddy shoes etc). Everything provided was luxurious and of the highest quality. The breakfasts were delicious - I particularly liked the peaches cooked in brown... More

I very rarely get excited enough to write reviews on hotels or B&b's, when they are bad I never go back there and put it down to experience. When they are good I go back and keep it under my hat, don't want everybody to turn up a spoil a good thing. However I want to share this because the... More

We recently stayed at the Preston House for one night as we were going to a friends wedding. What can I say! It was fantastic. We were met with tea and cake in the lounge and had a great chat with Debbie about the place itself. Both Debbie and George made us feel really comfortable and were very helpful. The... More

We stayed at the Preston House for two nights in August this year. What an idyllic setting! Beautiful place, beautiful hotel. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding (could do with a bit of music in the dining room though.) Anything, anyhow you wanted it, nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Our room (No. 4) was on the front of the building,... More

I have waited a number of months before responding to this particular review, because we wanted to be certain that "The Bells" were not interfering with guests comfort during there stay. I am delighted to report that not one single guest has said that the clock in the medieval tower across the way is interfering with their sleep - in... More
