Just returned from an absolutely wonderful stay at the Quinta do Scoto. From the warm welcome we received from Tony, Charlotte and Izzy (Penny was away during our stay) to the spacious, well-decorated and beautiful rooms, the tasty and filling breakfast ("best orange juice ever!" according to my son, "best hot chocolate ever!" according to my daughter, the rest of... more

This was our 3rd visit to Penny & Tony this year - this time with 16 friends for my 60th birthday celebrations. Everything went without a hitch and everyone had a marvellous time. The rooms are excellent and hospitality the best. Tony & Penny organised a medieval banquet for the Saturday night presented by Fernando and his team and that... more

Fantastic B&B. We really felt welcome and enjoyed the stay. Guinta do Scoto was our first stop on our Tour-Portugal, and the best ever, no doubt :-) Penny, Charlotte and Tony have created a remarkable and unforgetable B&B. The service, the spacious rooms, the surrondings...everything is just great. We stayed 4 nights with our son who was almost 2 years... more

We stayed at the Quinta do Scoto for 8 nights in November 2009. Whilst the weather was changeable, there was plenty for a pair of walkers to see and do in the area even this late in the year, come rain or shine. The Oceanarium in Lisbon held us spellbound for 5 hours on a wet day, whilst we followed... more

We arrived in Lisboa from Indonesia via Hong Kong and London on Oct. 15th. With the directions previously supplied by Tony and Penny on e-mail we were able to get to the Melecas train station from the airport using public transport without a hitch. Penny picked us up when we arrived and took us to our Sr. Miguel suite which... more

We loved Quinta do Scoto so much that we rearranged the end of our trip so that we could return for another stay. It is incredibly lovely and the family is so welcoming (which includes their Portuguese water dog Izzy)! The rooms are all large and beautiful and have full baths. The breakfasts served had a nice range of cereals,... more

Having stayed 3 days in Lisboa my wife and I rented a car and headed West, destination, Rio de Mouro and Quinta do Scoto. This was our first trip to Portugal and needless to say we were a bit concerned about getting around by car. Tony's directions however were precise, easy to follow and we arrived as expected without a... more

Quinta do Scoto is a beautiful place to stay! Tony, Penny and Charlotte gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived. They made us and our babygirl feel at home immediately. We stayed in the Sr Miguel suite, a beautifully decorated and big room with high ceilings. The bathroom is also beautiful and spacious. A bottle of good red... more

This was our 2nd stay at Quinta do Scoto and we were pleased to see that we weren’t disappointed by coming back. We stayed in one of the Barn Suites this time which was just amazing. We have never stayed in a place so luxurious, generous in space, and with so many little touches that equal and surpass many expensive... more

In a world where we often gamble on the facilities in Hotels, this rural B&B is like nothing I’ve ever been to. The entire Hotel has been sympathetically restored and it’s full of the original furniture, my rooms made me feel I was living in old Portugal and they were always immaculate. The owners are a really kind English family... more
