My girlfriends family have been going to Oberau for a number of years and we stay in the kellerwirt appartments. They are exactly what you need if you want more space than a conventional hotel room.
There is a great spar next door with all you need.
Just a 100 yards up the road is the Kellerwirt Hotel. Hans and Claudia are fantastic. The food and company is superb.
With the skiing, I would advise having a car. You are only 5 mins from some small resorts and 30 mins from some of the largest in europe.
I would defo recommend this anyone!!!!! more

stayed at the Kellerwirt a few years ago in the summer and went back this year for the winter. My son (21) and his pal stayed in the main house and loved it, it is a very old place, about 400 years old but the facilities are right upto date.

Hans and Claudia made the holiday really special, food was excellent and the trip out to another ski resort was very memorable.

My husband and I and some friends of ours stayed in the Kellerwirt appartments just across the road. these are very new, fully fitted out with all mod cons inc a dishwasher! and right next door to the local Spar shop!

would highly recommend both Gasthaus and Appartments .
