My husband and I stayed here for the D-Day weekend this year, and we can't wait to come back! Roel and Pia are so very kind, and great hosts! The chateau is beautiful, and the rooms are top notch (and open with skeleton keys!!!). The weekend of our trip, there was only one other couple, who were staying in the... More

This beautiful 300-year-old, lovingly restored chateau is owned by Roel and Pia Klinkhammer. Roel is also owner and tour guide for Victory Tours, offering a most imformative tour of the D-Day beaches. Pia is an artist and their b&b is full of tastefully arranged art. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable with large private bath. There's... More

My wife, grown son & I spent two nights in Roel & Pia's lovely home, and took the full-day tour with Roel of Victorytours.com. The chateau is beautiful and peaceful, a bit off the beaten path but a nice change from Paris. The bed was comfy and breakfast was wonderful. Roel's knowledge and insight into the places we visited on... More

We spent 3 wonderful nights at Chateau de Lignerolles. Roel and Pia were the most gracious of hosts. The Chateau has to be seen to be believed! The room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and comfortable. Pia's breakfast was topped only by her warmth and hospitality. Roel has forgotten more about D-Day than most Ph.D professors in history will ever learn.... More

Our family of five (2 parents, 2 teens, 1 twenty something) just spent two nights with Roel and Pia at their beautiful chateau. It could not have been any nicer. The accommodations were excellent, the food at breakfast wonderful (all the coffee you wanted!), and the hosts were most attentive! Pia even turned on the bedwarmers for us one evening... More

My grandson and I just returned from staying at the Chateau with Pia and Roul and going on the one day tour with him and another couple who also were staying at the Chateau. We had a wonderful time. Pia is the gracious hostess and Roul is the tour guide for sure. The chateau was built in 1731 and is... More

In July we stayed at the Chateau de Lignerolles. What a beautiful place! The owners, Pia and Roel, were outstanding hosts. The room was lovely and clean. They had a fabulous breakfast with eggs, cheese, juice and meat and more--one of the best breakfasts we had in France. The coffee, too, was perfect (not too strong but just right). Roel... More

We booked a room at the chateau and an all-day tour of the Normandy beaches (Victory tours) in early June. The owners Pia and Roel are fantastic and the accommodations were just perfect. The chateau is set in the countryside and it is a perfect retreat. The breakfasts were wonderful and the entire experience was fantastic! One thing I would... More

We stayed at the chateaux because we wanted to visit Normandy and we wanted to have a tour of the city and we found Victory tours recommended by Rick Steves . The owner and tour guide, Roel and his wife Pia opened the chateau for guests 5 years ago. Living in Holland, it seemed appropriate to end my 7 day... More

You may not have this listed, but it is on the internet. The Chateau is located just a short ride south of Ste-Marie. A 16th or 17th Century house under reconstruction. Roel & Pia can't be beat for hospitality and helpfulness. Even provided free sodas, a limited amount of beer or a mixed drink or wine after touring for the... More
