Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

stayed at Baan Sala Lung Dam for three nights, slept like a baby even with noise from the street. Clean and comfortable rooms with hot shower, coffeemaker, fridge, tv. friendly helpful staff. I‘ll stay there again.

We stayed here only one night. We needed to catch a plane. So close to the fisherman village shops and cafes. I quite liked this area. The beach is 5 minutes walk. Very nice place to stay. It has a lush garden which the rooms are set around. Nice for kids, it has a swing set and the gate can be securely shut so the little ones cannot escape. The room is spacious. I feel like they take pride in their hotel, little things like nice mugs, umbrellas provided, and nice dispenser bottles for shampoo and conditioner. Nothing was damaged, unlike other places I have stayed at. Shower worked very well. The lady at reception was also very sweet, offering advice on where to go. Would def stay here again.

We stayed here in January 2014 and enjoyed it so much the rooms are very clean and tidy the place is run by mother and daughter. Who were always very nice and helpful.Baan Sala lung dam is less than a five minute walk from the strip and beach. It is very quite and you can't here any of the noise from the strip. There is a 7Eleven two minutes walk for anything you might need and washing machines 1 minute walk just around the corner for any washing you may need to do. The rooms have hot water for showers and amenities for tea and coffee. would definitely recommend to stay here. Thanks again to Oum and mother Rich and Colette.

I stayed at Sala Lung Dam in Fishermans village for 2 months in Feb/March 2013. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and 100m to the intersection and main road to Mae nam or south to Chaweng or Lamai. I used Sala Lung Dam as my base as it was very cheap, much cheaper than booking on the net. I went into the office one day and met the owner Mao and what a lovely lady she was. She went out of her way to help me with everything I required regarding bookings and trips all over the island. We negotiated a price which both of us were happy with. It was the cheapest price in the village and I had everything I needed while staying there. Wifi was very fast and it was very quiet at night even though we were on the main road into Fishermans village. Please note that Mao has 2 different types of accommodation. The one in the village does not have a pool, but a very beautiful garden. The house with the pool is about 2 kms outside the village, but also very quiet, fast wifi and very peaceful. I will definitly stay there again when I go back to Samui as I had such a pleasant stay the 1st time. I also felt very safe being a woman on my own at night. Her husband was the police chief in the village and there was always police around the complex which made me feel safe 24/7.
